"Elvis: The Concert Years 1969-1977" is a documentary account of Elvis Presley's concerts during this colourful and turbulent period of his life.
The book takes the reader on a journey through these fantastic concert years. Each tour and each season in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe are given a thorough treatment, with the author's own comments and almost 200 extracts from the press reviews of the concerts.
The photographic material, with dates of publication, covers the whole concert period. The book contains well over 200 photos, where more than 60 of Elvis' stage costumes can be seen.
The last part of the book consists of an extensive collection of statistical material. Under the title 'Musicians' there is a catalogue of all the musicians Elvis used during the concert years. 'Concert Songs' contains practically all the songs Elvis performed during the same period. In 'The Concerts' we find a detailed outline of all of Elvis' tours during these years: where and when they were held, the names of the concert halls, audience figures, and the names of the costumes he wore for the concerts.
It has taken the author more than 15 years to collection the information for this book. The result is a thoroughly researched book where every aspect of Elvis' concert activities is treated in an honest and serious manner. (Good Reads)
